Cutting out foods with diets, will only lead to binging when you are around your comfort foods and feeling completely out of control. Let me explain........
I used to have heavy and painful menstrual cycles. Because of that I was allowed to say home and got to watch soap operas and eat cookie dough with my Mom. So to me, that cookie dough meant love and comfort so I naturally craved it, especially during my menstrual cycle.
For the sake of the example, lets say you had the same experience with that food. To your subconscious that cookie dough isn't just sugar that some studies claim is bad, that cookie dough represented your Moms love. If you take away Moms love, this can send panic throughout body, causing more stress, increased cortisol and leaving you feeling deprived and depressed.
When you cut out foods you have memory and emotions to, you will always have a strong urge to eat them and chances are, if you have deprived them for long, when you do eat it, you will binge, leading to more guilt and shame. You will then lack trust in yourself, and wonder what is happening and why you keep sabotaging yourself. BUT it is not sabotage, you are just looking for that comfort based off your memories.
You might even be using food to punish self. Example: Got sick after cookie dough one time so when wanting to hurt and self abuse you crave cookie dough.
Cookies might mean love and comfort to one person and someone else could use it to self abuse and punish themselves based on their memory of that food.
Use the journal prompts and Clearing/Empowering script to disconnect the feelings and memories from the food to take back control!
