Body shame is a heavy topic and a huge reason so many hold onto weight. So many times in society we are shown what a body should look like. If our body doesn’t look that way, we feel shamed and humiliated by society, and then start shaming ourselves and our body. Some have trauma if they were personally shamed by family members, peers, friends, etc. about their weight/body. And then on the flip side, so many are shamed for being what society wants, for looking like what others could lust after.
Some can be carrying shame and trauma around being told it’s their responsibility to look or dress a certain way or else. Severe trauma as well if anyone was a victim to abuse and then blamed and shamed by religion, family, friends, etc. because “it must have been your fault and definitely your bodies fault”.
If anywhere you feel safer the way you are so you wont be shamed for being your ideal weight/self, your body will hold onto weight for protection.
It is time for you to heal and move forward now, seeing your body as wondrous and beautiful!
